The 3-Die Roll Crimp Set is for loading straight-wall cartridges. Its steel Sizer Die sizes the case and de-primes. Note: Cases must be lubricated. The Expander Die expands the case to the proper diameter to accept the bullet, and it imparts case mouth flare/bell for bullet feeding. The Seater Die seats the bullet and roll crimps.

FAQ
What is a roll crimp?
- A roll crimp turns the case mouth into the bullet’s cannelure, locking the bullet in place to prevent movement during recoil or magazine feeding—especially important for straight walled rifle cartridges like .350 Legend, .45 70 Government and the other cartridges in RCBS’s Group C die set series. RCBS also offers taper-crimp options for 30 Carbine, 400 Legend, and 450 Bushmaster.
Why do straight wall rifle cartridges need a 3-die set?
- Cartridges in RCBS’s Group C die sets like 350 Legend, 45-70 Government benefit from a 3-die set because they require separate sizing, proper case mouth expansion, and a dedicated roll crimp to ensure consistent bullet seating, reliable feeding, and uniform performance in ever action and even bolt action rifles.
