These RCBS factory replacement decapping units are the same ones we ship with our products — so you can rest assured they will work.

These replacement decapping units feature an expander rod, expander ball, and decapping pin. They are used in sizing dies to de-prime the case and expand the case neck in bottleneck cartridges. It is always a good idea to keep an extra decapping unit on-hand so you can ensure your reloading sessions do not get interrupted if you ever damage them during use.

  • Factory Replacement Part
  • Precision Machined to ensure concentricity
  • Expander Rod, Expander Ball and Decapping Pin
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

Installation Instructions:

  1. Install the decap unit in the following manner:
Screw the decap unit into the die with 3/16" of the pin sticking out from the die.
  2. With the decap unit hanging loose, lube a case and run it up into the size die.
  3. While the case is still in the size die, lock the nut down.
  4. Extract the case from the die and the die from the press. Check to see if the decap unit is centered by rotating the die in the large lock nut.
  5. If it is not centered, repeat the process, break the locknut loose, and size a case, turning the lock nut over before locking it down.
